How to Make $900,000 in one month

|

Today I watched as Tiger Woods dominated another tournament. Yes, I was watching golf and, yes, I did enjoy it. I'm not ashamed to admit that and if you criticize me for it I won't take it personally... I'll bet you're about to tune in to watch another wonderfully crafted reality TV show.

Okay, that's besides the point. I was listening to the announcers talk about how great Tiger is and how much money he makes. As Tiger placed a perfect approach within two feet of the hole one of the announcers proceeded to say how hewill make approximately 9 million dollars this month. Not this year, this month!

Have I missed my calling? I could handle 1/144 of that monthly salary every year. I guess as an aspiring graphic designer at Liberty University I should brush up on my short game and head out the Masters this year right?

Actually what I should really do is assasinate Wood's caddy and offer to take his spot. That way I could secure 1/10 of his salary per month. Yep. Caddy's make 1/1o of their clients salary. As Tiger's caddy I could make $900,000 in one month. Not too shabby I guess.

Well, time to rest up for tomorrow's big day making like 9 million times less than Tiger will. At least I still have fun hitting the golf ball all over the place. It would be so boring to hit it on the fairway every shot.

A Picture A Day

I woke up at 7:45am this morning. No apparent reason other than that's what my body does to me. I looked outside and noticed that it was really foggy and proceeded to gather my camera and drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway for a little bit. No other reason than to enjoy the beauty of God's creation. The sun came out and played a nice little effect on the surrounding landscape. Here are some of the results that I captured...

The Eclipse

|

Last night, as many of you know, a galactic event known as a lunar eclipse occurred. I would never have known if my mom hadn't told me earlier in the day. I was hoping that the cloud cover would clear so I could witness something that won't happen again until 2010. Around 9:45pm I drove to a higher spot near my house but saw nothing because of a thick cloud cover. Ironically, when I returned to my apartment there was a narrow clearing in the clouds right above me. So there I stood in 30 degree weather with a camera and tripod set up trying to capture this event. The pictures didn't turn out as well as I had hoped but it was still neat to see the heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19).

I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but the species of bird known as the swan is actually a very ornery creature. Usually you think that swans are majestic and docile but I have a story to prove that thought wrong.

There is a tiny pond near my house in Lynchburg, Va on which a "beautiful" swan resides. I had seen him previously and wanted to take his picture. So, just before the sun set on a Sunday evening I drove over to this pond with girlfriend and camera in tow. It was kind of like I kidnapped Stephanie but she was willing to go so I don't think that counts.

Well, we get to this pond and start walking down to waters edge where I can get the best photos. Well, here comes mr. swan with a mission. He was hissing and puffing himself up to appear bigger then he actually was. The thing is he's already huge.

Okay, the first attack was over and i had managed to snap a couple photos. We decided to walk around the pond in order to get a few different angles. However, we were very eerily followed around the entire pond by a bitter swan who had too many run-ins with rogue photographers. Not to mention this swan was missing one eye. Needless to say I tried to capture his good side.

Anyway, it was an interesting experience and I got some good pictures. Check them out:
